Donald Trump Endorsement

The Columbus Dispatch editors, Mr. Alan Miller and Mr. Glenn Sheller, have endorsed Hillary Clinton for President of the United States. As the Republican candidate for the United States House of Representatives in the Third Congressional District of Ohio (Columbus area), I would like to offer a dissenting opinion.  I hope that Mr. Miller and Mr. Sheller at the Columbus Dispatch would take the bold step of providing their thousands of subscribers, who support Donald Trump, with my following endorsement.

In the Columbus Dispatch endorsement, the following are the exact words that they used in describing Hillary Clinton:

“Clinton has faced controversy: These include allegations of corruption; convenient memory lapses, particularly while being questioned during investigations; lies such as the one about coming under sniper fire in Bosnia; and difficulty in admitting when she is wrong. Her use of a private email server that exposed secret State Department communications to interception was reckless, and her attempts to minimize and cover up the scandal damaged her further.

Her calls for higher taxes, unsustainable spending and the likelihood that she will try to stack the U.S. Supreme Court with a left-leaning majority are unwelcome.”

The Columbus Dispatch endorsement made no mention of Hillary Clinton’s role as Secretary of State in the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi in 2012, including American Ambassador to Libya, Cristopher Stephens.

There was no mention of Hillary Clinton’s role in the Clinton Foundation, using a pay to play scheme, while she was Secretary of State, which funneled millions of dollars to the Clintons. There was no mention of her role concerning the transfer of 20% of our nation’s uranium resources to Russia.

With all due respect to the Editors at the Dispatch, they missed a number of fundamental national issues that affect citizens here in the Columbus area.

From a policy standpoint, Hillary Clinton supports Roe v Wade, allowing the abortion of unborn babies for any reason, at any time. She also supports the taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood that has sold baby body parts for money and funnels taxpayer money to Democrat candidates. She does not support our Second Amendment right to self-defense. She is on record supporting open borders, which allows illegal immigrants into our nation, which takes jobs away from Americans and reduces American wages. The open border also allows deadly drugs like heroin and cocaine to pour into our communities, which is killing our youth and other citizens.

With open borders, comes open trade such as NAFTA which has destroyed millions of jobs all across America, including in the Columbus area. She has stated that TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership) is the “gold standard” for international trade. TPP would be another huge job killer for our nation and the Columbus area.

Hillary Clinton supports the Iran nuke deal that provides Iran, the # 1 state-sponsor of terrorism, with $150 billion dollars and a path to acquiring nuclear weapons. Iran intends to use those nuclear weapons against Israel and if they could, the United States.

Hillary Clinton supported the withdrawal of all American forces in Iraq, not leaving forces in place. That created a void in which ISIS was formed and now that Islamic radical terror group is in dozens of countries. Refugees from Syria and Iraq are pouring into Europe and Hillary wants a massive increase of Syrian refugees to enter America without being vetted.

Hillary Clinton supports expanding Obamacare to a single payer system, which will take total government control over the lives of every American citizen.

She supports Common Core, which controls the education of our children from Washington, D.C.

She is on record stating that she would close all coal mines and put coal operators and coal miners out of business and out of work. That would kill all coal mining jobs in southeastern Ohio.

Hillary Clinton is totally funded by special interests, political action committees (PACs), lobbyists, and Wall Street money interests. Those donors support her campaign in order to get tax breaks, tax credits and government contracts.

As for Donald Trump, he does not accept campaign contributions from special interests, political action committees (PACs), lobbyists, nor Wall Street money interests. He would represent the people, not the special interests.

Donald Trump supports religious liberty and the protection of the life of the unborn.

He supports protecting our Second Amendment right to self-defense.

He supports legal immigration and the building of a wall along our southern border.

He supports Fair Trade that would protect American businesses and American workers.

He supports the lowering of personal and corporate taxes that will increase the private sector, creating jobs for Americans. With more people in the workplace, then more taxes will be collected, which would begin to lower our massive Federal debt. This reduction in taxes worked in the Kennedy and Reagan administration.

He supports the repeal and replacement of Obamacare.

He supports abolishing Common Core and returning education of our children back to the states, where it belongs.

He supports the re-opening of coal mines and other energy sources in order to make our nation energy independent.

He supports attacking ISIS in the Middle East and either capturing or killing them.

In the Columbus Dispatch endorsement, the Editors stated:

“We are disappointed that so many Republican leaders have accommodated a narcissistic, morally bankrupt candidate, who is so clearly out of step with those values.

He has proved himself a liar of epic proportion. He is a bigot, a braggart and an admirer of foreign thugs such as Russia’s Vladimir Putin. He is reckless and thin-skinned.”

Recently, Hillary Clinton rightfully demeaned Donald Trump for his locker room language on October 7th.  Mr. Trump agreed that his language that he used was terrible and that he was sorry for saying it.

On the other hand, Hillary Clinton has demeaned her husband Bill Clinton’s sexual victims over the years, calling them “bimbos, sluts, trailer trash, whores and skanks” and Monica Lewinsky as a “narcissistic loony toon.”

Hillary Clinton also defended a 42 year-old man, who raped 12-year old Kathy Shelton in 1975 and beat her into a coma. Hillary Clinton defended the rapist, knowing full well that the rapist committed the terrible crime of rape against a 12 year-old, innocent young girl.   Hillary lied to the court that the child fantasized about an older man and that Kathy Shelton made the rape up.  In a recorded interview Hillary Clinton stated, “I got him off. So what? Who cares? We got evidence thrown out, so he walked. She laughed and said, “It doesn’t matter.”

Hillary Clinton never apologized to any of the sexual victims of her husband, Bill Clinton, nor to Kathy Shelton.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are neither Saints, nor are they Angels. They are imperfect human beings.

Instead of hurling personal insults at either candidate, I believe that the important aspects of choosing the next President, the voters should look at the positions that each candidate offers to the American people that will shape our nation’s future.

The question for the voter is, “What kind of a nation do you want for your children and grandchildren?”
